Loode tammiku bird watching tower Päikesepealinn Kuressaare
The nature bird-watching tower of Loode oak grove was completed in 2003. Today, the tower and its surroundings have become a pleasant hiking destination for both townspeople and visitors. In the 1930s, there was an outdoor café here, where holidaymakers and guests took walks and boat trips around the city. Even today, the chamber ends of the quay are visible at the top of a stone pier on the beach sand. From the tower you can see the whole bird-rich bay of Kuressaare, the shipping lane to the marina, the port of Roomassaare, the islands of Abruka and Vahas, the bay of Suur Katla and the shallow coastal sea of the Northwest.
